3 Man Tunnel Tents
Tunnel tents are lightweight, easy to erect and particularly suited to outdoor adventures where you need to be able to carry all your equipment. So if three of you are planning a hiking and camping trip then 3 man tunnel tents are your ideal option.
The standard layout for a tunnel tent is an entrance and vestibule at both ends and a sleeping compartment in the center. This has several advantages in that you can use one vestibule for storage and make sure that the entrance you are using is the one facing away from the wind. A 3 man tunnel tent will only normally have one sleeping compartment in the middle, so you need to be happy to share sleeping space with the other 2 members of your party.
Whilst most of these tents share a similar layout, there can be huge differences in floor area, height and also weight. These things, therefore, must be important considerations when choosing your tent. If you are going to be moving from place to place every day and not staying in the same spot for more than one night at a time, then a smaller, more lightweight model would be appropriate. If, however, you are intending to stay camping in the same place for several days and nights, you may want a tent that allows you more freedom to stand up and move around.
Keep in mind that 3 man tunnel tents are not really designed to be your home for more than a night or two at a time. Their main benefits are that they are lightweight and easy to carry and quick to erect. This means that they make great tents for a hiking trip where you just want somewhere to crawl in and sleep at night, but not so good for a family vacation.
