Buy a Larry Fitzgerald Rookie Card

Feb 9th, 2010

When it comes to purchasing a collectible sports card it is important to note that we need to target very specific types of players and be cognizant of where they are projected to be among their Hall of Fame brethren at the end of their careers.  In the world of football rookie cards it is especially important to look to the golden boys of offense: the quarterback, wide receiver and running back positions.  A ball hawking receiver for the Arizona Cardinals fits both of these things perfectly and that is why getting your hands on the Larry Fitzgerald rookie card should be a prominent step in your football card collecting plans.

Larry Fitzgerald grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis and was the ball boy for the Minnesota Vikings.  Many have heard this story, but it can’t be stressed enough because he was fortunate enough to be there when two likely Hall of Fame players were playing WR for those high flying Vikings teams: Randy Moss and Chris Carter.  Especially when it came to Chris Carter he saw a highly talented player who also took great care of his body and was willing to put forth the effort to remain in top form.  This is a hallmark of Fitzgerald and one of the main reasons we can expect him to continue his impressive numbers through time.

Having already been a part of a Super Bowl team , Fitzgerald has physical tools in spades.  The fact that he and Kurt Warner were able to bring one of the sorriest franchises in all of sports to nearly the pinnacle of achievement is noteworthy in and of itself.  The fact that they did this with a vaunted offense and nearly were able to find a way into that Super Bowl crown is even more impressive.

To be sure there are several football cards you should be considering purchasing in the present time.  However, you would be remiss in forgetting to add the top wide receiver in football to that list and make it a high priority.  The skill is literally the limit with Larry and with his work ethic I would expect him to accomplish even greater things in the future!
