The revolution in messenger bags
It would be a bit extreme to say that messenger bags have transformed my life, but I would certainly say that they have changed it for the better. I travel a lot and I cycle to work a lot and to do both of those properly I really need to carry a laptop computer with me just about at all times. And I also need to look presentable for work. Trying to do all of those things has had me experimenting with all sorts of ways of carrying my laptop. I have tried laptop backpacks, but found that even if they are comfortable they just never look good in work attire. I've tried using a normal brief case. That works reasonably well but still looks a bit staid and is a pain on the bike. In recent years I've been experimenting with a number of messenger bags and found that they are a great balance between good looks and practicality.
So what do I like about messenger bags?
The first thing is that messenger bags for men can look pretty stylish. They are not as old fashioned as the classic brief case is yet they come in enough styles and fashions to look good under almost any circumstances. Many people choose to go for quite brightly colored and decorated messenger bags. These are fine but I find they stand out a bit too much in my work circumstances. That said I see plenty of people taking them to the office and they are fine. They just seem a bit loud if part of your job means going out to meetings a lot, as mine does. You also get really old fashioned canvas messenger bags. These are pretty cool and have an amazing retro look. But they also seem more at home on the university campus than in the office.
